POSITION PURPOSE

To provide systems engineering support for the design, development, integration, test, and verification of highly complex electro-mechanical systems.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES

The following statements of duties, responsibilities, frequency, are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by individuals assigned to this position. ·Lead Significant Technology Development Projects involving multiple disciplines and 5 or more additional engineers

·Work with functional teams and management to ensure TD projects are successful and transition to operational status at the earliest practical opportunity

·Coordinate with engineers in a team environment to develop and implement new technology, including hardware, software, firmware, and systems/architecture.

·Support transition of research and development concepts to operational systems.

·Present results and new ideas in front of internal audiences and customers.

·Write test reports, white papers, and proposals in a team environment.

·Serve as a subject matter expert in your field of expertise and lend that expertise when required.

·Be cognizant of related technology capabilities of other divisions that complement Mission Integration opportunities and programs

·Fosters team environment and acts as a resource for others in the company
Provide systems engineering support for the design, development, integration, test, and verification of highly complex electro-mechanical fire control systems 

  • Generate component and subsystem specifications 
  • Define hardware and software interfaces between subsystems 
  • Develop, test, and document turret fire control algorithms 
  • Build linear and nonlinear dynamic models and simulations to evaluate performance 
  • Lead development teams 
  • Support lab testing 
  • Support field testing 
  • Occasional travel required 

NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

·Covering duties as needed while colleagues are out of the office

·All other duties as assigned

Job Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Education and Experience:

·Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (EE, ME, CS, Physics), advanced technical degree preferred

·Minimum 7 years’ experience in Development and/or Systems Engineering role(s)

·Demonstrated experience and proficiency in one or more applicable application areas, e.g., SW Systems Integration, SIGINT, ELINT, RF and Antenna Design, Signal Processing, Mission Systems, Special Signals, etc. complemented with a generally diverse technical background and confidence to challenge accepted norms

·Demonstrated successful experience contacting potential customers to develop new research and development programs.

·Strong interpersonal and communication/presentation skills

·Project, Program or Functional Management experience

·Willing and able to go on test flights

·Turret fire control systems design, integration, and test experience 

·Requires an ACTIVE Secret clearance and the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret Clearance with eligibility for TS/SCI, which requires US Citizenship.
