We are searching for a Principal Systems Engineer with expertise in Model Based System Engineering (MBSE) in our Advanced Systems & Technologies (AS&T) division, located in Plano, TX.
Our AS&T division is built on the proposition that a small team of the right people can do what others will not even attempt. We specialize in developing disruptive, next-generation technologies for advanced small Unmanned Air Systems (UAS / UAV), advanced radar systems, next-generation weapon systems, and other RF sensor technologies using small company agility and big company experience. As a Principal Systems Engineer specialized in MBSE, you will be responsible for leading Model Based Systems Engineering activities for a Systems Engineering team across a business area that focuses on radar/RF/sensors programs for our US warfighters.
You will demonstrate success by:
  • Counsel programs on the implementation of MBSE
  • Develop currently used processes and methodologies being utilized on programs for the development for systems models
  • Train new users, consumers, and leaders on model implementation and usage
  • Develop new processes, methodologies, and analysis methods to leverage off of existing MBSE Models
  • Develop the architecture for the integrated systems and test model
  • Oversee all modeling activities, set run rules for model development
  • Requirements definition, flow-down and traceability for complex electronic systems
  • System design synthesis of complex electronic systems
  • Perform trade studies on a variety of system issues and components
  • Present results during internal and external program meetings
  • Participate in proposal activities both cost and technical
  • Other duties as assigned

Job Qualifications

  • Must be a U.S. citizen
  • Must have an existing DoD clearance with a current 5-year update; must be able to obtain additional clearances as required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Science; Master’s degree is highly desired
  • 8 - 13 years of experience in a related engineering field with some systems engineering experience
  • Previous experience in an Model-Based System Engineering environment
  • Design, development and/or testing of radar and/or other RF system
  • Familiarity with radar system components including antenna, receiver, exciter, and processor
  • Requirements definition, flow-down and traceability
  • Defense industry experience
  • Working knowledge of military standards
  • Proficient with MBSE tools (Magic Draw or Rational Rhapsody)
  • Proficiency in SysML and DODAF/UPDM/UAF
  • Proficient with DOORS
  • Physical requirements include the ability to travel up to 10% and the ability to lift up to 20 lbs.

Desired:

  • Familiarity with a variety of radar types and modes
  • Previous experience with guided weapons and/or weapon systems
  • Experience with the Atlassian tool suite, specifically Confluence
  • Proficient with MATLAB
  • EVMS
