The Material Program Manager (MPM) is responsible for coordinating all maternal related activities on assigned programs including flow down of requirements, sales order entry, master scheduling, material planning, procurement, subcontracting management, supplier partnerships and supplier quality. This position will reside in the Material Operations and support the Program Management office with primary responsibilities for managing supplier delivery and quality performance for key critical items.Part of this responsibility will be to align supplier delivery schedules to L3 factory build plans and ensure the successful and timely delivery of key material items.The position will also be responsible for root cause corrective action with suppliers, and supplier performance risk identification/mitigation, and management.  The MPM works directly with the Program Manager and Engineering Project Leader on assigned development, production or sustainment program (s) as a key member of the Integrated Project Team (IPT). Additional responsibilities may be assigned by leadership.

    • Program Management for all program material activities

    • Develop, execute and monitor material plans and supplier delivery/quality in order to successfully achieve program milestones

    • Provide excellent communications and lead the ream through any changes or issues related to material schedules or supplier quality

    • Performance management of selected suppliers to contract needs

    • Ensuring alignment of supplier/supplier sub-tier deliveries with internal build-plans

    • Conducts periodic business reviews between suppliers and the L3 IPT

    • Providing supplier performance management support to Supply Chain as needed

    • Provide support for Obsolescence/DMS identification and mitigation

    • Supports Supply Base Risk Mitigation Processes/Procedures

    • Provide support to any outsourcing activities

    • Internal coordination to ensure Supply Chain awareness of forecasts and potential business opportunities

    • Provide overall assistance for Life-Cycle Management of Key Supplier requirements

    • Alignment of business and technology roadmaps for key suppliers

    • Other responsibilities as deemed necessary by leadership

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Technical field, Business Administration or Operations Management preferred and 10 years’ applicable experience

  • 10-15 years experience in program or project management

  • Preference for candidates with Department of Defense Procurements, including FAR/DFAR/ITAR

  • Working knowledge of FAR/DFAR/ITAR

  • Position requires computer literacy in the Microsoft Office Suite and MRP systems.

  • Experience with major subcontractors in an IPT environment preferred

  • Demonstrated ability for supplier performance management and project planning

  • Understanding and experience in subcontract structures and development

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred

  • Ability to travel 50%
